My pick of the Month - June 2022

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. - 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NKJV)

The Good Stuff:

The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking through to the Blessed Life by Dr. Bruce H. Wilkinson

The What:

Book

Hot Take:

The Prayer of Jabez is all about the power and practice of asking big bold things of the God who has immeasurable blessings waiting for us.

The book is inherently a challenge to the reader to ask, seek, and find all that God has in store for us. This is truly tasting and seeing God work miracles and make phenomenal moves in and through us—all the things we could not do on our own.

More than just receiving, this book demonstrates the importance of wanting what God wants, staying open and receptive to His plans, and asking Him for His dreams, not just our tiny wants.

The best part? This book gives you courage to try God in a new way—a way that only He can see or provide by asking for Him (and the Holy Spirit) to be present with you and create impact through you and your obedience. But watch out: He will answer, so You must be ready to move!

My Takeaway:

We are limited only by what we fail to ask God for. We must give our agendas to God, so He can give us the power to live His limitless agenda.

Fave Quote:

“To all who - like those Christians in the book of Acts - look at who they are now and who they'll never be, and what they can do now and what they'll never be able to do...and still ask God for the world.” – Epigraph
