Day 93 of 100

So here is my instruction to all the churches: each must live with the gifts the Lord Jesus grants you and with the call God offers you. – 1 Corinthians 7:17 (VOICE)

God who speaks, we lift believers to you, so that they may hear and respond to your call and their purpose.

Our Shepherd, we ask that you move us to purposeful action when we hear your Word and your call on our lives. We ask that you make believers receptive, sensitive, and motivated when you speak. We ask for wisdom and discernment to know your will and understand your call. We ask that you help us live wonderful lives under our assignment. We ask that you anoint us, appoint us, and fill us with your wonder working power. We ask that you activate our gifts and help us use them well. We ask that you stir us to action and a well-lived life on purpose!

We thank you Adonai, for choosing us to live these lives. We thank you for empowering us with gifts, including the most precious gift of your Word. We thank you for the promise of a happy, fulfilled, and satisfied life when we respond to your call. We thank you that you are reconciling all believers to your will for them and helping them choose life with you. We thank you for giving us your presence embodied in our gifts and tied to your clear and compelling call. We thank you that we can hear you clearly, know your voice, respond with pleasure to your call, and enjoy the purpose you called us to.

In the name of God our Master, let it be.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action. – James 1:22-24 (MSG)
