Day 9 of 100

In this work, we work with God, and that means that you are a field under God’s cultivation, or, if you like, a house being built to his plan. – 1 Corinthians 3:9 (PHILLIPS)

Our Father, Lord of the church, we lift to you your body, your ruling government, your children, the communities you’ve formed under your anointed mantles and earthly shepherds. Please nurture, heal, protect, grow, and strengthen your church.

Please meet with us as we meet collectively, filling our hearts and minds and rooms with your precious cleansing and replenishing presence. Please open our eyes, hearts, minds, hands, feet, and resources to your will for us within our spheres of influence, to your calling and our purpose. Please make us purposeful. Please make us loving. Please make us examples. Please make us salt and light and extensions of you and your will on earth. Please make us wise and discerning, mature, inclusive, and accessible. Increase the church’s positive and generous footprint and impact. Please remind us to work outside of our walls, our own cares, and the most visible concerns. Please direct us to your purpose for us and strengthen us to work diligently, faithfully, attentively, lovingly, peaceably.

Please bless church families and church homes, meeting places and worship experiences. Please cause church members to experience and learn to live and love as families and siblings in Christ. Please give us insight and creativity, hope and vision for the present and the future. Please bless us with courageous, obedient, and fresh leadership – ready to welcome everyone and move beyond the man-made traditions, religions, and requirements. Please gift us with a revival and revelation of your grace, so we may see you all around, understand and walk in our purpose, and worship and pray and live as you direct. Show people Christ, let them feel God’s love, open people to the leading and wisdom of the Holy Spirit when they encounter the church and its members. Please bring your church together and spread your love and light around the world through us.

Please remember your promises to your church, our plights. Cover and free us from danger, dis-ease, confusion, selfishness, ignorance, temptation, the work and plans of the enemy, and sin. Move within, through, around, and over us. Make us over in your image. Restore unto us the joys of your salvation. Bless your church, our outreach and in-reach, our growth and decisions, our leaders and servants, our missions and homes. Please cause your church to fulfill our purpose collectively and individually – giving us strength, wisdom, courage, faith, love, and hope to bring you glory.

Thank you for the collective body, our good work, your steady hand, and presence. Thank you for your leadership, your wisdom and vision for us, the change and newness you are bringing. Thank you for strengthening our relationships and faith. Thank you for opening us up further to your truth and vision, your grace and mercy, your Word. Thank you for fueling us and placing us in the right place at the right time, accelerating us, protecting us, and making us impactful. Thank you that all of you resides in us and that we are coming to know it, live it, and love it. Thank you for bringing your church to positions of loving and equitable rulership, with actions that follow and model your own on this earth. We decree that a new wellness, wholeness, Godliness, lovingkindness, and faithfulness is bursting forth in every person, leader, servant, home, and operation of your vast and varied church!

In the name of the Lord who is our creator and head, who has chosen and appointed us and called us each by name, let it be!

You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home. – Ephesians 2:19-22 (MSG)
