Day 89 of 100

Do not mistreat foreigners living in your country. Treat them just as you treat your own citizens. Love foreigners as you love yourselves, because you were foreigners one time. That was in Egypt. I am the Lord your God. – Leviticus 19:33-34 (ICB)

Father, we lift the nations and your people, requesting that you bless us to be a blessing of kindness, compassion, sympathy, love, and unity with all who live among us or migrate to our lands.

God of love, we come seeking love. Help us to love like you do it, love like you instructed, love like our souls depend upon it. Please bless us with kindness to treat everyone living in our country as one of us. Please open our eyes to every opportunity to treat others with love, dignity, and respect. Please gift us opportunities to seek peace, pursue justice, and advocate and give to all in need, regardless of background or ancestral homeland. Please revive kindness, gentleness, peace, love, humility, and self-control in your people. Please make us leaders of love. Please make us generous and helpful to migrants. Please refresh our character, minds, and heart to live anointed, holy, and blessed, so that everyone in our sphere of influence can be blessed by your grace.

Thank you, Creator of all things, for choosing us to live here among all of our neighbors and friends. Thank you for gifting us all we need to live peaceably and loving among anyone who accesses our lands. Thank you for righting the lives, minds, hearts, attitudes, and behaviors of your children, so we may love others as you do. Thank you for the grace to be just and generous to migrants. Thank you for gifting us the will to ensure migrants who reach our lands receive kindness and mercy while they are here. Thank you for peace and blessing in our obedience. Thank you for your kindness and generosity to us, grace that is unearned, mercy that renews everyday.

In the name of the King of compassion, who acknowledged us when we were lost and loved us before we were found, we believe hearts and minds are aligned with your heart and mind toward migrants. It is so!

Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing. – 1 Peter 3:8-9 (TLB)
