Day 64 of 100

Lord, help me control my tongue. Help me be careful about what I say. – Psalm 141:3 (ICB)

Father, we come lifting the tongues and hearts of your servants so they may speak wisdom, life, and well-being.

Oh Lord, we ask you to keep a guard over our mouth and to keep watch at the door of our lips. We need your help controlling our tongue. Please renew our minds, conquer and free our hearts, and make us loving holy vessels for your use. Please gift us kind thoughts and soft hearts from which your lovingkindness overflows to bring good news and good instruction to those around us. Please bring to our knowledge and our memory the wisdom of your word and the kindness and peace you embody within us. Please grace us with the right words at the right time for the right people.

Thank you for keeping sentry over us. Thank you for preventing us from speaking thoughtlessly, wrongly, and cruelly. Thank you that you are working kindness miracles in our hearts and peace miracles in our minds and curative healthy miracles in our tongues. Thank you for being fixer, healer, vindicator, guard, and source! Thank you for being the God of second chances and the God who makes even our wrong words right!

In the name of the One who stands sentry over us and our tongues, so be it!

From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive. Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. – Proverbs 16:23-24 (NLT)
