Day 43 of 100

Be angry [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], yet do not sin; do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down. And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness]. – Ephesians 4:26-27 (AMP)

Forgiving Father, we come against the spirit of offense, bringing all who struggle, suffer, and sin because of it before you.

Patient Father, we ask for patience, good sense, wisdom, and a strong sense of your presence, so when temptation to become angry, bitter, sad, or vengeful comes we can defeat it. We ask that you renew in us the goodness, love, power, and self-control your spirit has given us. We ask that you remind us of the true weapons of our warfare, so we may gird ourselves with them daily. Please fight with us and for us, as we resist the devil. Please cause him and those he uses to try to manipulate us or cause us to fall to flee immediately from us in many directions. Cause the world to be awed and respectful of our gentleness, generosity of spirit, wisdom, and love. Please keep us standing tall and strong in right standing with you, unbroken and unswayed by any offense.

Thank you, Yahweh, for your love and forgiveness, which are comfort, rescue, and examples for us daily. Thank you for forgiving us, so we may more easily forgive others. Thank you for the ultimate weapons of spiritual warfare – your word, truth, spirit, peace, salvation, giving us faith and making us right with you. We claim the power and authority you have given us and put on the armor of God. We banish and block every effort of the enemy to cause us to fall or weaken. We decree we are strong and filled with love that overflows into goodness, graciousness, and self-control. We declare we will not be moved, stuck, broken, manipulated, or controlled by this world, this enemy or our emotions. We are free! We are God’s warriors! We do not carry and cannot be bested by any offense!

In the name of God Almighty who wars with us and fills our lives with his love, patience, and goodness, it is so!

Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. – Proverbs 19:11 (NLT)
