Day 19 of 100

God makes his people strong. God gives his people peace. – Psalm 29:11 (MSG)

Immanuel, we are here bearing the weights and burdens, weariness and overwhelm, and the fullness of your children who desperately need rest.

Lord, you promised your presence, and it is your presence that we seek. Please find us and shelter us in your utmost ease. We need all your grace and mercy to pour out and overflow, to overwhelm our overwhelm, shift our weights and burdens to you. Our weariness may have kept us from you, from your best for us, and even from ourselves. We seek your tender mercy to forgive us, your grace to renew and sustain us, and your face to heal and soothe our disrupted spirits and weakened minds. Our bodies feel frail, disjointed, lethargic, sickly, and out of sorts from the daily pains, pressures and trials. We need a rescue. Send the helicopter because a life vest just won’t do! We need your swift and loving attentions. We yield our struggles to you. We yield body, brain, and Spirit to you. We yield the to-do lists, wish lists, and comparison charts to you. We are done and undone. We need you to make us over again. We need holy rest. We need lightened loads. We need refreshing that enervates. We need your hand guiding our eyes, so we see our path clearly. We need you Spirit tingling our mind and working discernment, so we can differentiate and do the good work that you (not the world) have for us. We need you filling our cup, being our cup, standing as our everything. We need revival and hope. We need you. We need you. Please infuse our lives with you.

We thank you that when the only thing we can manage is faith that you are God, we know you are there. We thank you that in these times we can trust you are being the best God we could ever ask for, hope for, or dare to imagine. We thank you that even in giving you our list and our gratitude your peace and rest fill us, comfort and satisfy us, and make us right with you and ourselves once again. We decree your grace and mercy superabundant in our lives. We decree you are resting us and accelerating us as we rest. We decree your love fills our lives luxuriously and the weight of this life is safe and controlled in your hands.

In the name of peace itself, Immanuel, God with us, it is so and will be so and continues to be so as long as you are God!

He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord! – Isaiah 26:3 (TLB)
