Day 16 of 100

Then God blessed them and gave them this directive: “Be fruitful and multiply. Populate the earth. I make you trustees of My estate, so care for My creation and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that roams across the earth.” – Genesis 1:28 (VOICE)

Lord, we lift our eyes to you, as you exist in the hills, the streams, the valleys, and gorgeous skies. We come praying for our environment and the healing of the earth and our lives as they’ve been impacted by environmental degradation and change.

Father, we seek you in your power as creator, innovator, artist, healer, and savior. We need you to heal and hold and renew. Please see what our actions, inactions, and time have done to corrode, exploit, pollute, and cause change, disorder, disaster, extinction, reversal, blight, disease, and uncertainty in the world you chose us to look after. Please rescue us from the dangers our world now poses. Please send your grace and mercy to chase after us once again. Let us be caught up in your love, connected in reverence for our shared home, and awed by the beauty that remains and is still possible. Please send your spirit to help us thrive and make recompence. Send peace to the elements - air, ground, water - and people. Send wisdom to the teachers, scientists, community members, agriculturalists, and policy makers. Send resilience to the victims and survivors of natural and unnatural disasters caused by the environmental change that we face. Please send hope and faith that changed planetary and environmental circumstances do not have to mean pain or struggle for your people. Please remember your people who are suffering, dying, and threatened by the change and deterioration of our planet. Send resources to rebuild, medical personnel anointed by you to heal, generous ministry to provide hope and direction, and new science to reawaken our authority over this earth and its environment.

Father, we seek you in your eternal stewardship of us. Please gift us your wise counsel, loving respect for life, and power over the elements. Please teach us stewardship with our authority. Please share your vision and innovative ideas for a cleaner, safer, healthier world. Please help us know with you we can rise above, be the solution, discover the cure, deliver others from harm, share purposeful cultivation techniques. Please help us care for this earth the way we care for ourselves and do it in honor, praise, and thanksgiving to you. Make our song and activities worship of your illustriousness as the original Creator. Please give us eyes to see the wonders and perfection of this world, so we can remain awed by your greatness and motivated to protect and enjoy its blessings with respect and without exploitation.

Thank you for hearing the cry of your creation. Thank you for blessing us with wellness, wholeness, stability, and reawakened authority over our land. Thank you for protecting us from harm we have and haven’t personally caused. Thank you for lifting us high on a rock, exalting us to see our circumstances, efforts, and options from your perspective. Thank you for the limited knowledge science brings us of the world you wondrously made and placed in our care. Thank you for blessing us with more insight and knowledge, with godly character and responsibility for our home and our future, so we may tend to our home planet and use it and exist in it better. Thank you for your spirit roaming throughout the earth, giving us favored place and unearned unmerited beauty and life. Thank you for imparting your wisdom to us and trusting us with the privilege and authority to love and improve the land. We declare we are good stewards of a healthy constantly healing world filled with peace and abundance and vitality!

In the name of Jesus that moves mountains and calms seas, the name that resurrects and never fails or forsakes us, it is done and it is all well!

Now in this way those who are trusted with something valuable [stewards; household managers] must show they are worthy of that trust [be found faithful]. – 1 Corinthians 4:2 (EXB)
